Stoderzinken mit StoderkircherlThe Stoderzinken with its many walking destinations - "the mountain with the most beautiful views in the Dachstein Tauern Region" - is Gröbming's local mountain and lies at an altitude of  2,047 m.

The 12 km drive up to  Gröbming-Winkl along the newly renovated, toll-free "Stoderzinken-High Alpine Road" is a unique experience.

It stretches over an area of 227 km², consisting of the Large and Small Sölk Valleys and their mountain landscapes.

UNESCO Welterbe Dachstein bei Sonnenaufgang UNESCO World Heritage Dachstein:
The Dachstein, the highest mountain in Styria, is with its glacier a popular tourist attraction all year round.

In additon the Dachstein offer a special highlight with its imposing "Hunerkogl Glacier Cable Car" and the newly erected viewing platform "Skywalk" - the most spectacular viewing platform in the Alps.

Dachstein Eishöhle15 minutes from the mid-station of the Dachstein Cable Car Obertraun lie the Giant Ice Caves and Mammouth Caves. The highlights are "King Arthur's Cathedral", "Parcifal Cathedral" as well as the "Gralsburg" and the "Ice Chapel".

The Mammouth caves are still being explored today. The visitor to the 60 km long caves gets an insight into cave exploration and the formation of such natural spectacles.

Tier- und Naturpark Schloss HerbersteinSecretively hidden in the wildly romantic countryside of the Feistritz Gorge, in the heart of Eastern Styria lies the Schloss Herberstein Zoo and Nature Park. Many eras of historical building harmoniously combine to create a unique jewel, that tells a history of 700 years of family tradition.  

Nearly 600 animals from five different continents can be observed here in the zoo and nature park. The historical garden with its numerous types of rose offers a true seas of blooms.

Lipizzanergestüt PiberNestling in the hilly countryside of Western Styria, approx. 45 km west of Graz, you'll find the Lipizzaner stud farm of Piber. The wonderful climate and the soil conditions offer the perfect surroundings for rearing horses, which after 3 years travel to Vienna to the Spanish Riding School. 

Under the emotional motto of "See, feel, smell, hear - experience horses with all your senses" the visitor gets an interesting insight into the life and work with the famous Lippizaner horses at the extensive adventure area of the State Stud Farm at Piber.

Schau- Salzbergwerke Altaussee und HallstattVery interesting tourist attractions are the Salt Mines at Altaussee and Hallstatt. In the Altausse salt mine there' not just the million years old miner's treasure, salt, 60 years ago priceless art treasures were hidden here. The oldest salt mines in the world are in Halstatt, approx. 1 hour away.  

Both salt mines are an experience for young and old.
