The Stoderzinken with its many walking destinations - "the mountain with the most beautiful views in the Dachstein Tauern Region" - is Gröbming's local mountain and lies at an altitude of  2,047 m. The Sölk Valley Nature Park is situated in the eastern part of the Dachstein Tauern Region in the Niedere Tauern. It stretches over an area of 227 km², consisting of the Large and Small Sölk Valleys and their mountain landscapes. Numerous mountain lakes and alpine huts open to the public characterise the landscape of this alpine nature park.

Styrain Bodensee near Aich The Bodensee lake is surrounded by impressive waterfalls. The lake with its abundance of fish has an impressive inlet in its delta.   Fabulous lake for boating, or walking or for just sitting in the sun and unwinding. Approx. 20 minutes away by car.

The well-known Loden factory, where amongst other things the famous "Schladminger" jackets are made, is located in Ramsau. Guided tours are bookable in advance and free of charge. You'll find out lots of interesting facts about loden and its production and afterwards have the opportunity to shop in the factory store.

Visit the Countryside Museum Schloss Trautenfels at the foot of the Grimming and you'll disvover lots of interesting facts about the country and inhabitants of the Upper Styrian Enns Valley. In the "Local Museum" you'll learn all about culture, history, relifion as well and fauna and flora of the Styrian Enns Valley.   Due to its easy understandable presentation the museum is also attractive for children.

Nestling in the wildly romantic mountain landscape of the "National Park Gesäuse" the Benedictine Monastery of Admont possesses an unmistakable and powerful character. The Charakter. The Museums spreads over 7600 m² from "ancient" to "modern". In addition to the largest monastery library in the world, the museum houses a fine art museum collection, a multi-media monastery presentation, special exhibitions and a natural history museum.

UNESCO World Heritage Dachstein: The Dachstein, the highest mountain in Styria, is with its glacier a popular tourist attraction all year round. In additon the Dachstein offer a special highlight with its imposing "Hunerkogl Glacier Cable Car" and the newly erected viewing platform "Skywalk" - the most spectacular viewing platform in the Alps.

15 minutes from the mid-station of the Dachstein Cable Car Obertraun lie the Giant Ice Caves and Mammouth Caves. The highlights are "King Arthur's Cathedral", "Parcifal Cathedral" as well as the "Gralsburg" and the "Ice Chapel". The Mammouth caves are still being explored today. The visitor to the 60 km long caves gets an insight into cave exploration and the formation of such natural spectacles.

Over the years iron ore has been mined in a terrace form from the Erzberg, giving it is current appearance and nickname of "Styrian Pyramid". The Open-air Museum in Stübing, one of the largest of its kind in Europe,lies in an idyllic side valley of the Mur. Secretively hidden in the wildly romantic countryside of the Feistritz Gorge, in the heart of Eastern Styria lies the Schloss Herberstein Zoo and Nature Park. Many eras of historical building harmoniously combine to create a unique jewel, that tells a history of 700 years of family tradition.   Nearly 600 animals from five different continents can be observed here in the zoo and nature park. The historical garden with its numerous types of rose offers a true seas of blooms.

Nestling in the hilly countryside of Western Styria, approx. 45 km west of Graz, you'll find the Lipizzaner stud farm of Piber. The wonderful climate and the soil conditions offer the perfect surroundings for rearing horses, which after 3 years travel to Vienna to the Spanish Riding School.  Under the emotional motto of "See, feel, smell, hear - experience horses with all your senses" the visitor gets an interesting insight into the life and work with the famous Lippizaner horses at the extensive adventure area of the State Stud Farm at Piber.

Very interesting tourist attractions are the Salt Mines at Altaussee and Hallstatt. In the Altausse salt mine there' not just the million years old miner's treasure, salt, 60 years ago priceless art treasures were hidden here. The oldest salt mines in the world are in Halstatt, approx. 1 hour away.   Both salt mines are an experience for young and old.
